Well, I spent last night taking Pansy Parkinson out for dinner and she was bloody insistant on it being at a horribly snotty restraunt, so I had no choice in dressing up, Drew. which was certainly an interesting evening out, following which was an extremely painful ungodly piss-up with an extremely pissed-off Altair. You don't want an extremely pissed-off Altair at a piss-up, just as a general rule. It's like deliberately riling up Demelza and casting a Sonorous charm on her voice for what will inevitably follow.

I didn't realise incompetant waitresses could be such an utter bane on his existance.

Meanwhile, Pansy is a nice enough girl. Really. If you overlook the narcissism and the vindictive streak and the exceptionally expensive taste. And she's nothing on Bee or Dem or Cho or Su or any of those girls - but eh.

Okay, so before some of you decide to rain down judgement upon me for - oh no! - having a heated discussion with Entwhistle on Granger's journal, and then again later today in the foyer of the Ministry, lemme say something:

Actually. I have nothing to say. It's not of anyone else's business but mine and Entwhistle's, and quite frankly - if it comes down to it, we're probably BOTH selfish.

In fact, you'd be be hardpressed to find many people who are not selfish. Or proud in some way. And the reason why it gets on anyone's nerves is because they are bloody well proud and selfish too.

'Takes one to know one', anybody? Yeah - well, cliches aren't just cliches for no damned reason, you know. There's a grain of truth in it. A big fat horrid grain, like a foul tasting pill we all just gotta swallow or ignore.

Okay. I'm selfish. You're selfish. We're all selfish. How many of us are actually going do more than identify the issue and attempt to do something about it? For those genuinely interested, I think a very, very small percentage. Very small.
